Let me introduce myself and my inspirations for creating Blooming Star Yoga & Wellness.
Meet the Founder
In short, my worldly name is Laura, a trauma-informed licensed therapist and certified yoga teacher — though many know me as “Adhara”, an inspirational singer/songwriter and movement leader.
In 2018, following a debilitating health crisis after turning 50, I gathered my faith & courage for one of the bravest things I’ve ever done. I left everything, let go of my whole life as it was, and immersed myself in an intensive & life-changing YTT in the magical jungle of Costa Rica.
My epic journey seeking strength & wellness was just the beginning of the birth of Adhara- my new name revealed through meditation. Adhara is both a star in the sky and a word inspired by muladhara, the root chakra — the foundation of support and stability. Balancing this energy has been a major theme of my life’s work: healing trauma — my own and that of generations past, present, and future. Adhara became the directive of my soul’s integration and unfolding purpose.
For more than 25 years, I have worked with women & our allies as a counselor, guide, social change advocate, and facilitator & participant in feminine wisdom circles and wellness. I believe true yoga is an individual and essential core practice of self-love, growth and mindful presence, and it literally saved my life.
My training and experience also includes multiple movement practices, dance, and yoga therapy for an approach that is holistic, informed, flexible, and intuitive — integrating decades of professional and personal experience of evolution, with continual dedication to body/mind/spirit practice and learning, literally expanding in every breath of awareness.

Our practice weaves together movement, mindfulness, music, self-love practices, wisdom sharing and community — supporting women to feel grounded, radiant, and strong as we cultivate vitality.
I believe that as women thrive, the whole world returns to balance.
We honor the sacred turning points individually, together, and for all of life.
This work is both personal and collective. Each of us is being called to be the change.
As we reconnect with our bodies, rhythms, and truth... something larger is healing and transforming. The Earth herself is calling for balance — a return to connection, intuition, and loving care, reclaiming our strength and power to live in abundance.
We are living in rapidly changing times that require us to honor the sacred turning points — individually, together, and for all of life.
Blooming Star Yoga & Wellness honors the sacred space for women to shine through this turning point — reconnecting with our natural rhythms and true voices, awakening vitality, and revealing the expanding brilliance to ignite our brightest dreams into reality.
Midlife invites us to pause, listen, and be present with this precious unfolding experience.
Through liberating yoga & somatic movement, personalized empowerment coaching, wisdom tradition circles, and networking groups, Blooming Star supports women and our allies in feeling grounded, connected, and thriving in aligned purpose.

As I was creating the beautiful logo for Blooming Star, I envisioned a flower blooming like a star. Just then, I walked outside to notice my beloved Borage plant had a bloom, but not just any bloom! To my surprise, she grew a whole new version of herself, with 4 petals & four leaves, not the regular five petaled beauty.
From that moment, I knew the profound message that each unique expression is the answer to the call.
The four pointed star represents the cardinal directions and sacred elements (earth, water, air, fire) which speak to grounding, connecting with nature. These points also hold ancient wisdom, spiritual revelations, and timeless messages of balance, direction, and divine order. The center star represents a cosmic light energy that grows and emanates from source, through our heart center.
A note on Borage- this plant has been a powerful ally of courage since we met, during a 9-month herbal warrior training I attended, sitting in circle learning Irish Celtic traditional herbalism. I feel infinite gratitude for the guidance, love and knowledge received through my journey of connected presence.
Today, through Blooming Star Yoga & Wellness, I weave together the worlds of body, psyche, spirit & nature — helping others navigate their own wellness journeys to live strong & shine bright.
